The Native American area features a 40’ longhouse, 20' tipi (seasonal), wig-wam,lean-to and a cooking area at the north side of the pond. The Longhouse is a popular venue for school tours, scout troop and 4-H Club visits to learn about local Eastern Woodland Native American life. It is constructed in the traditional domed manner using bent saplings and canvas covering available after 1500. Prior to 1500, it would have been covered with a variety of bark, reeds and/or hides. The Longhouse contains a fire pit for heating and cooking with wood, a bed/table for artifact display and log benches to accommodate groups of fifty for presentations. A second longhouse is under construction on the east side of the pond site in memory of Audrey Stone who women's circle ceremonies and equinox events at Seven Eagles.
